Two friends, Gopu and Babu, own a troupe that performs comedic plays. When Babu faces a financial crisis, the two friends decide to accept a commission and perform for the Tamilians in Shimla.

Set during the time of the Chola invasion, the film tells the story of a courageous Pandiyan king. The king filled the hearts of his people with courage, patriotism and faith to help fight the Cholas.
