The Poddington Peas is an animated British children's television series made by Paul Needs and Colin Wyatt; the single series has 13 episodes and was first aired on the BBC in 1989. The theme song describes the peas as being "down at the bottom of the garden". Human size garden objects, giant in size to them, are seen such as up turned flower pots serving as most of their buildings. Humans themselves are never seen or mentioned. In 1992, writer Phil Gardner was employed by Poddington plc to help write some new episodes - including one intended to pilot the series in the USA, and featuring a new group of characters, the Bugz. however these were never published. There were also paper back books by Paul Needs, illustrated by Colin Wyatt and published by Box Tree / Award Publications. The paper back books including new titles will be released with a new AP and merchandise to complement these titles is being prepared for release in 2013.

John, lonely and living in London, unexpectedly meets outlandish druggie skinhead Byron, and suddenly, John's life turns to wacky. Mamma Bear, Poppa Bear and Baby Bear live in a cazy and tidy cottage in the woods. The entire Bear family is a very neat, but Baby Bear is so particular that Momma Bear thinks he may be just a bit too fussy. When Momma Bear cooks up a lovely bubbling pot of creamy porridge, they all agree that it's too hot to eat and decide to take a walk while it cools. While they are away, Goldilocks, an unusually clusmy girl, stumbles upon and through Poppa Bear's garden, crashes into the cottage, pirates the porridge, fouls up the furniture and finally falls asleep in Baby Bear's bunk. When the Bears return home they can't belive the damage, but Baby Bear has to laugh he sees the mess!

The Woodcutter and his wife love their son Tom Thumb, even though he is no taller than his mother's thumb! But they are very poor, and so one day when two men offer to buy Tom Thumb to help make their fortunes, Tom tells his father to accept the money, which he does with great misgivings. Tom, however, sets off on the adventures of a lifetime.
