Heita Tomishima is a very conscientious but awkward young man at a mid-sized construction company. He loves working on-site, but one day is suddenly transferred to Operations, a unit whose work is totally outside his comfort zone. Its remit is to land major projects, including public works, and in-house it's cynically known as the Bid Rigging Department. Working under a crusty-old director, a crass macho type, a go-getter doyenne, and a cunning manager adept at hiding his true intentions, Heita dedicates himself to winning a public works contract worth billions.
In Hiroshima, a gang known as "Beast," led by Hidenori Danno (Takashi Nikaido), is the number 1 gang in the area. The number 1 gang is "Nights". Meanwhile, high school student Tsukasa (Kento Nakajima) happens to meet Yoji (Hikaru Iwamoto), Hisao (Shota Watanabe) and Eiji (Tatsuya Fukasawa) and become friends with them. Through his new friends, Tsukasa becomes involved with the gang "Gokuraku Cho". One day, Tsukasa fights with the Shun, the leader of "Gokuraku Cho" and beats him. Tsukasa now becomes the 8th leader for "Gokuraku Cho".

There's a reason single dad Sorada always wears a school uniform and attends high school part-time. When he was a high school student, he suffered from a serious illness and couldn't go to school, so he spent most of his youth in a hospital room. In adulthood, after overcoming the illness, he marries a childhood friend, a single mother, and they have a 10-year-old daughter. However, although he is happy, he is alone with his daughter and without his wife. He decides to enroll in the school system part-time, which was also the wish of his late wife.
