A cinematic tapestry of candidates who spend every waking hour of their lives preparing for the entrance exam on the Academy of Dramatic Arts in Zagreb, showing us what led them to make these decisions, how their families reacted to them and opening the audience's eyes to the surprisngly cutthroat and emotionaly heavy world of the Croatian acting scene.
Wanting to escape the clutches of Zagreb's loan sharks, the host of a popular children's variety show takes on an assignment to go to perform in refugee camps nearby the city of Gospić. He's joined by Vrabac, his ten-year-old neighbor on the run from his violent older brother, and Tina, a young woman desperately seeking for fame and fortune.
Wanting to leave a good impression for his daughter's visit, a homeless war veteran devises a plan to break into a well-known criminal's old apartment and claim it as his own. But, when his plans are thwarted, his daughter becomes an unsuspecting target.

Twenty years after the Croatian Spring autonomist movement had been crushed by Yugoslavia's communist goverment, autonomist Jakov Petras returns to Zagreb from a self-imposed exile in Australia, determined to find the truth about the mysterious murder of his ex-girlfriend Sunčana and the disappearence of his younger brother Mislav.
