This sitcom series premiered in 1981 and changed its name every year, from "Hong Kong 81" to "Hong Kong 86." It was eventually replaced by a new sitcom called "City Stories." A total of 1330 episodes were produced, making it the second-longest-running series in Hong Kong, after "Come Home Love: Lo and Behold". Each episode of this series is inspired by current social issues, with early storylines often satirizing society's flaws. The characters, such as "Chen Ji," "Mrs. Shun," "Uncle Mao," "Jue Wu Yin," "Miss Su," "A Wei," and "Ah Kang," mostly hail from the grassroots, leaving a lasting impression on the audience. For example, "Mrs. Shun," portrayed by Lydia Shum, later became a term to describe uneducated women who follow trends blindly. "Chen Ji," played by Lawrence Ng, is a stockbroker who loves to show off his wealth, and his behavior typified that of many Hong Kongers, becoming a byword for the city's nouveau riche.

Like many Hong Kong people, the Ling family are hoping to immigrate to Canada - but then they all die in a gas poisoning accident. Something wimpy like dying isn't going to stop them from their Canadian dreams, but it turns out migrating in the next life takes money, too. In order to raise funds to head west, the Lings return to the mortal world and get to work making money through various jobs, raising plenty of hilarious havoc and misunderstandings along the way.

This is a star-studded comedy film, with the funny point being that Chan Ji is muddled into the feud between two major gangs. In addition, Barbara Yung made a guest appearance in "Crazy 83", in which she played the role of a detective.

This is a story about a security guard agency and its three agents-Michael, Sam and Ricky. Sam and Ricky are delivering a large sum of money to a bank when a robbery takes place under their nose. after a series of hair-raising about hilarious chases, the agents get their men. With Michael and Sam giving their reward money to Ricky. They live haphazardly ever after.

The Biu Family collects their lottery winnings in Canada and returns to Hong Kong to start a new life together, minus the second daughter due to a family quarrel of her involvement with her boyfriend. After Mrs. Biu shows off her money to her old friends at her bank, she loses it all in a robbery. Now, void of their new found wealth, the Biu Family must start over from scratch again.

A cross between Rear Window and The Blues Brothers! A group of gossipy neighbours witness a murder through an open window. Dopey mainland cop Lo Yau Dai investigates by going in undercover as a new tenant.

The brother and sister have no living family and depend their lives on each other. The sister is a beauty and has many suitors fighting over her. Unfortunately the sister has been cursed and cannot get romantically involved. The neighbors make fun of her for that. After visiting many doctors, Uncle Piu volunteers to treat her, which arouses Uncle Piu’s wife’s suspicions and leads to a series of funny instances…

One of the better possession movies filled with hexes, spells and exorcisms. It also contains crucifixion (well, sorta), lesbian sex, and flying skulls. The overall tone is dark and gelid.
