Christmas on the Moontop is a Norwegian christmas series. It was produced and sent on NRK in 2002 with replays in 2005, 2010 and 2014. Idea and screenplay by Gudny Ingebjørg Hagen. In Northern Norway during the 1860s, a little girl named Dina accidentally causes her mother's death. Overcome with grief, her father refuses to raise her, leaving her in the care of the household servants. Dina grows up wild and unmanageable, with her only friend being the stable boy, Tomas. Tyven, Tyven ("Hold My Heart") follows the tense relationship between a father and his young daughter. The father, Harald, has divorced Cecilie, his wife, after an ugly breakup which involved accusations of spousal abuse and child molesting. Furious, Harald kidnaps his 7-year-old daughter, Lisa, who he has been forbidden any contact with. Over the course of a few days, the father and daughter grow closer. The police, meanwhile, have organized a manhunt for Harald, and only one policewoman believes he is not a dangerous man.

Svein's best friend is a fancy rat named Halvorsen who goes missing during a pet contest, leading to chaos with newspapers reporting a rat invasion. To avoid losing both Halvorsen and the competition, Svein must work to keep his parents unaware of the situation.

Svein thinks his grandma's soul is in the process of being swallowed by mysterious aliens, and he mobilizes both his friends and his rat Halvorsen in an attempt to save her.
