The omnibus feature SUCESOS INTERVENIDOS consists of shorts by a who’s who of Argentine documentary and experimental-film giants, including Edgardo Cozarinsky and Gustavo Fontán but also Claudio Caldini, Andrés Di Tella and Gabriela Golder. Each one of them created a piece of a few minutes in length using archival footage from SUCESOS ARGENTINOS (“Argentine Events”), a popular newsreel series from 1938 to 1972 whose episodes have recently begun to be digitized by Buenos Aires’s “Pablo C. Ducrós Hicken” Film Museum.

Through different situations, the narration is introduced into the life of old García (a lonely and enigmatic man who lives and works in an astronomical observation center that has been operating since the sixties in the city of Santa Fe), of Marcelo ( a young man passionate about the unfathomable mysteries of the cosmos) and Noelia (a student who will start working as Garcia's assistant).

The introduction to a feature film in progress called Punas (continuation of Puna, from 2006, a work made in Jujuy by the same filmmaker). Sunblasting explores the Andean world in connection with the historical and geographical. A framework in which beliefs, rituals and contemporaneity are superimposed.

As the only possibility of survival, or as a form of escape, four people live in the streets of the City of Buenos Aires. Under a highway or at the door of an official theater, they build a strange habitat, where their intimacy is mixed with the rapid routine of urban traffic.

Puna is a personal essay on the Puna (the plateau that covers part of Bolivia and Peru, and the extreme north of Chile and Argentina). Khourian invokes the hallucinated soul of a culture torn apart by the sun, transfigured by a spiritual experience shifted to the viewer.
