Hadas y duendes
"Berlin" is the portrait of a city sketched on DV tape, a mosaic of life as experienced by Argentine immigrants. Dispensing with dialog, this pic by Homero Cirelli comes close to the feel of a silent movie, though music and sound effects are used to create atmosphere. Aiming to capture moods and moments, it has an quality that should appeal to under-30 festival auds, who will appreciate the lack of German stereotypes.
Berlín
Banal scenes from the preparations for and during the course of a freetechno party regularly alternate with a frenetic sequences of events from Argentine history to produce a hypnotic and frightening trip.
Buenos Aires Free Party

An Argentine woman and two Venezuelans climb Uritorco Hill in search of an electronic music party. On the way up, one of them gets lost. The days pass alongside a crafts vendor turned hippie, an elderly woman leaving an offering at the summit, a group of esotericists celebrating a nudist ritual, and among them all, an ET disguised as a human, voyeuristically recording these moments. Finally, signs of their lost friend bring them back to a reality where the party has not stopped beating behind their eyes.
