Karl is a simple farmer who takes a plane to Ibiza to finally meet his idol, pop-singer Linda Lou. Karl has long ago fallen in love with his idol and has written her numerous love letters, But a farmer like Karl is not the kind of man she could be interested in. At the same time however, a famous millionaire, who happens to look just like Karl, is staying on the island

Overnight, nothing changes for Leonie and Tom Sauter: their four-year-old daughter Salomé has vanished without a trace. When a ransom demand arrives, the extortionist turns out to be an opportunist who has nothing to do with the kidnapping – but the man is fatally hit by a train during the money exchange. Tom, now suspected of murder, decides to flee. Together with private investigator Lüthi and journalist Ulla Merz, the Sauters try to find Salomé.

Movie fan Mike has invented a machine with which he is able to take part in every movie which is currently running on his video tape recorder. But he and his friend Tommy are watched while trying out this new device and soon two electronic companies are on their trail to discover the secret of this invention.

The film is based on 'Fikrimin Ince Gulu', a novel by Adalet Agaoglu, which depicts a first generation gurbetci/guest-worker returning home. It covers his land journey in short bursts from Germany to the Turkey's west border - and extensively from thereon to his village close to Ankara - capital of Turkey. He begins his journey purchasing a second hand yellow Mercedes - possibly his first car - using his meager savings working as a laborer. Offering deep insight into the mind of a manual laborer Bayram (Ilyas Salman) making his first trip back home, resorting to flashbacks in highlighting Bayram's motivation and experiences from his childhood right up to the events leading to his first departure from Turkey to Germany.

Reserl, a young girl from the country is sent so be a friend to Princess Isabella in the capital of a German principality. Allthough it take quite some time, before the two girls grow to like each other.
