Lee Seong-jae

One father finds life nearly impossible to live as he attempts to raise his nine children on a pitifully small salary.

Yong-cheol's plans to mary Ok-rim are destroyed by her parents who marry her off to Cheol-ju. Yong-cheol becomes powerful in the business world during the following years and he does his best to make life miserable for Cheol-ju and Ok-rim.

Two traditional stories. In the first, a girl marries the bravest man in the village so she can send him into a monster's lair to collect an mystic herb which can save her father's life. In the second story, even death cannot prevent a devoted wife from helping in her husband's success.

Sun-ah is so shocked when she learns that her husband has a second family that she leaves home without a thought about what will happen to her children.
