Against the backdrop of the Women, Life, Freedom protest movement in Iran, filmmaker Elahe Esmaili is helping her parents to pack up the family home. As the boxes stack up, discussions flare between the generations: Elahe does not wear the hijab, embodying the courage of her generation's struggles. But can changing a society be as simple as moving house?

Nizar, representative of a real estate company in Tangier, inherited a Riad in Marrakech. However, his wife Salma refuses to settle there because she does not support the red city and its inhabitants who find them flabby and not very serious. Nizar therefore decides to introduce some reforms in Riyadh to sell them to the highest bidder. Unfortunately for him, Nizar finds himself surrounded by false workers, who do not control anything, which complicate his life and delay his workshop. But over time, this young person will find himself more and more adapted to his new city, to his rites and to the warmth of its inhabitants.

In 1988 the Iraqi Ba'ath party murdered and buried 182,000 Kurds in 350 mass graves. Only 10 people managed to escape. Faraj climbed out from amongst the dead and was taken to the USA by 'Human Rights Watch'. Realizing that few people were aware of the genocidal 'Anfal' massacres, Faraj formed the 'Iraqi Mass Graves Survivors' group. He returned to Kurdistan where, with four other survivors, he bought 1001 red apples and cloves and distributed them to families who had lost members. From one of these families comes a teenage girl, Shahnaz. The girl should be getting married soon, but her thoughts are focused on the world of literature.

Tahere Jourbonyan cannot stand idly by and watch as the forests of Iran's green north are being cut down piece by piece. She travels from Tehran to the vicinity of Ramsar, documents the illegal deforestation, confronts local workers with the short-sightedness of their actions, and asks the authorities uncomfortable questions.
