Biography

Jacqueline Andere is a renowned Mexican actress with over 60 years of artistic experience. She began her career at the age of 17 in experimental theater with 𝘙𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘰 𝘺 𝘑𝘶𝘭𝘪𝘦𝘵𝘢. He made his film debut in 1959 with 𝘝𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘥𝘰 𝘥𝘦 𝘯𝘰𝘷𝘪𝘢 and participated in emblematic films such as 𝘌𝘭 a𝘯𝘨𝘦𝘭 𝘦𝘹𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘥𝘰𝘳 (1962), by Luis Buñuel, and 𝘠𝘦𝘴𝘦𝘯𝘪𝘢 (1971), his greatest success. He also acted in films such as 𝘓𝘢𝘴 𝘱𝘶𝘦𝘳𝘵𝘢𝘴 𝘥𝘦𝘭 𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘢í𝘴𝘰 and 𝘕𝘪𝘥𝘰 𝘥𝘦 𝘧𝘪𝘦𝘳𝘢𝘴 in 1971. That same year he stood out for his participation in 𝘓𝘢𝘴 𝘱𝘶𝘦𝘳𝘵𝘢𝘴 𝘥𝘦𝘭 𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘢í𝘴𝘰, by Salomón Laiter, one of the films that revived the Ariel Award ceremony in 1972. She has worked on numerous soap operas on television and in theater. She has won the Silver Goddess and received multiple nominations for her acting work. Her career marks the transition between the Golden Age of Mexican cinema and the New Mexican Cinema. An essential figure in film, theater, and television, but above all, a renowned and beloved actress among the Mexican public.

The program became an unexpected success, garnering ratings in excess of 30 points. Starring Victoria Ruffo and César Évora, who last appeared together in 2000's Abrázame muy fuerte, La madrastra tells the story of María, a woman who lost twenty years of her life after being falsely accused of murder and who returns to Mexico to exact revenge on her husband and friends who abandoned her and to see her beloved children once more. La Madrastra is fourth in a series of remakes of the 1981 Chilean production of the same name. The program aired five nights a week, Monday through Friday, at 9 pm for 25 weeks. A follow-up special, La madrastra: años después, aired shortly after the finale on 30 July 2005.
