At the end of the 19th century, a series of mysterious murders occur in the provincial city of N. Metropolitan investigator Goremykin arrives at the crime scene. The search for the perpetrators leads to an unexpected conclusion – a revolutionary circle within the city, which consists of two young men recently returned from Switzerland.

In the past, Soviet prima ballerina and now world-renowned choreographer Ruta Myers returns to the country after almost 40 years to stage a performance at the country's main ballet theater. Ruta is forced to rebuild relationships with friends and enemies, who have become key people in the Russian ballet over the past time, but most importantly — with the artistic director of the theater Andrei Pronin and his family. They were once a couple, and now old feelings and old resentments flare up with renewed vigor. A lot of money, ambitions, and a career are at stake — Ruta, despite all her efforts, finds herself in the epicenter of passions and intrigues very far from the world of art.

The brilliant cashier Alexey Voronov goes on the run. Fearing persecution, he decides to plant a "drop" instead of himself, Yura Afanasyev, a provincial loser, like two drops of water similar to Voronov himself. However, the ideal plan gets out of control: Voronov gets shot in the head, and Afanasyev is saved by Alexei's guards, mistaking him for his boss.

Due to his unbearable nature, star chef Mark is thrown out of a top metropolitan restaurant. Moreover, now no one from the restaurant business wants to do business with him. In 15th-century Venice, Jacopo Foscari, son of the Doge of Venice Francesco Foscari, is to be tried by the Council of Ten for a crime of which he claims to be innocent. The Foscari family’s sworn enemy, the vindictive Jacopo Loredano, treacherously secures his sentence of exile. Despite the pleas of Lucrezia, Jacopo’s wife, the unfortunate father is forced to sign his son’s banishment order, even though he is convinced of his innocence. The young man dies of despair just before the real murderer comes forward. Loredano secures the removal of Francesco Foscari, who collapses, lifeless. "I due Foscari" is an opera in three acts by Giuseppe Verdi, with a libretto by Francesco Maria Piave, which premiered at the Teatro Argentina in Rome on 3 November 1844.
