Johnny tries hard to impress his girl, but she seems to be much more interested in movie stars.

Champion rodeo rider Richard Thurston is prevented from competing in a rodeo by the event's crooked chairman Riggs, who has bet a sizable amount of money on another rider and doesn't want to take a chance of losing it if Thurston competes and wins. As if that weren't enough, Riggs also frames Thurston for the theft of money from Daisy Hollister, the owner of the ranch where Thurston works. Complications ensue.

Mary's kid brother needs an operation and, in order to pay for it, Mary goes to a Hollywood studio and applies for a job as an actress. Mary is given a job as a waitress in the commissary, and gets to meet 40 actors, actresses and directors, none of whom tip big enough to enable Mary to earn enough money to pay for an operation. Will Mary become an actress and make some big money?

Harry wants to marry Dolly, a showgirl, but only on the condition that she can win over his disapproving father. The father is so charmed when he meets Dolly that he wants to win her for himself.

Joe Henry, head of a one-ring circus, plays a small town and after the departure of the troupe a young girl, fascinated by the prospects of being a star, follows. She is engaged and her presence causes jealousy on the part of Joe's sweetheart.

Homesick for America, Jack and his pals get aboard a ship U. S.-bound disguised as entertainers. As entertainers they're flops, but evoke considerable mirth among the passengers by their efforts. Jack arouses the jealousy of a Frenchman, who is keen on a young French girl, and is challenged to a fight. The Frenchman fights a la Savatte (the French method, including kicking, bucking, etc.) and is getting the better of Jack, until the latter dons a pair of hobnailed brogans. He consents to remove these if his adversary will put boxing gloves on his feet. The Frenchman gets seasick and is counted out as he leans over the rail, where he is soon joined by Jack.

Percy and Harold are rivals and both take the object of their affections for an outing.

Strelsa Cane, a successful stock actress, comes to New York and meets with reverses in her endeavor to get a start on the New York stage.

As Harry has "cleaned up" on the football field and won the big game, Natalie's dad figured that he should do the same in the world of work before marrying his daughter. Harry's chance to prove himself comes with an "engineering" job with the city. But it's sanitary engineering, and while our street sweeping hero tries his best, he just can't avoid making enemies. When he stumbles into the midst of a lively Chinatown tong war, it's Harry's bravery that saves Natalie and wins the day.

An outlaw decides to hang up his guns and lead the "straight" life. His foster son falls for the daughter of a wealthy estate owner. The crooked manager of the estate wants the girl for himself--so he can control the estate when the father dies--and tells the father that the boy is an outlaw's son.

The plucky boy rider Red discovers the dead body of Jim Crawford in the desert. A message scratched on a canteen begs the finder to protect Jim's daughter Ann from the killer, Luke Matthews.

Rooly, Pooly and Dooly were "picture sandwiches," but hardly shining lights, even in that capacity. Consequently they were "canned" by the management. A brilliant idea; one would play the wild man in the village square, a real live show of their own. Rooly and Pooly then basked in the society of fair country belles, but Dooly at length was rescued by Miss Smart, looking for excitement. She was not disappointed.

Hoss Martin befriends Chuck Willis, a war veteran long separated from his mother. They arrive at the old home to find Gabe Lawrence posing as the son. Gabe is scheming with Luke Steele to deprive the mother of the ranch, but Hoss shows them up, installs his friend in his proper place, and wins the love of sister Elizabeth.

After the mysterious murder of John Cowles' father, the son starts west to borrow money of his father's business partner, Col. Meriwether. He meets the Colonel's daughter, Ellen, and falls in love with her, not telling her of his fiancée, Grace Sheraton. Gordon Orme, an old acquaintance, turns up, tells Col. Meriwether about Grace, and the Colonel is so enraged he refuses to lend the money. John's mother and Grace have followed John and his mother urges him to try the gold fields. He discovers gold and wins Ellen, after both Gordon and Grace, who is really in love with Gordon, are killed.

To support a demanding wife, bank clerk Brian Kent embezzles a large sum of money and, overcome with remorse, attempts to commit suicide by casting himself adrift in a small boat on a rough river. The boat is caught in willows, however, and Brian meets Judy, a little maidservant who introduces him to her mistress, Auntie Sue, a schoolteacher. Under Auntie Sue's benign influence, Brian reforms and writes a book. Falling in love with Betty Jo, Brian incurs the enmity of Judy, who tells her father of Brian's unsavory past. Judy's father starts out for the bank, but Auntie Sue gets there first and persuades the bank president (a former pupil of hers) not to prosecute Brian. Brian's wife attempts to visit him and is drowned. Brian finds happiness with Betty Jo.

A rancher has left his spread to his long lost son, but only if he shows up to claim it. A mean-fisted fugitive from justice looks just like the missing heir and a plan for deception is hatched.

Jerry O'Donnell arrives from Ireland to be with her father in America. However, she soon finds living with her stepmother unpleasant, Jerry leaves home and encounters John Garland, a millionaire, now a widower, whom she knew in Ireland.

Dan Webber, a sailor in the U.S. Navy who has been away from home for many years and presumed dead, returns to his farm to find that his family is about to be evicted. Dan's sweetheart arrives with a baby who, unknown to Dan, is actually the child of his younger brother and the sweetheart's sister.
