Ian Samuels is an American film director and writer known for his work in the young adult genre. He directed the Netflix original film Sierra Burgess Is a Loser (2018), a modern retelling of the Cyrano de Bergerac story. Samuels has also directed short films such as Myrna the Monster (2015), which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival. His work often explores themes of identity and self-acceptance.
