Biography
He is a filmmaker, director, and screenwriter from Morelia, Michoacán. His short films Piedras al río (2012), Superhéroes (2014), There Has to Be Something Better (2019), Opening the Doors (2021), and Failed Attempts to Hug Each Other (2024) have been screened at festivals such as the Morelia International Film Festival, as well as at various showcases and international festivals in Indonesia, Germany, Austria, Italy, and the United States. In addition to his work as a director and screenwriter, he has developed a steady career in casting, working on films such as The Garden We Dreamed Of, directed by Joaquín del Paso; Margarethe Doesn’t Want to Be Seen Dancing, by Gabriel Herrera Torres; Violent Butterflies, by Adolfo Dávila; The Caretaker, by Mauro Mueller and David Figueroa; On the Edge of the Volcano, by Jorge Granados Ross; as well as The Darkness, In Freedom, and The Face, all directed by Jorge Sistos Moreno. He has also worked as first and second assistant director on projects including The Garden We Dreamed Of, by Joaquín del Paso; Margarethe Doesn’t Want to Be Seen Dancing, by Gabriel Herrera Torres; 50 Cents, by Leandro Córdova; and The Face, by Jorge Sistos Moreno, among others. From 2024 to 2025, he was a recipient of the Young Creators program of Mexico’s National System of Art Creators (SNCA), in the category of screenwriting.
