"Chez Maupassant" is a French anthology television series based on short stories by Guy de Maupassant. Created by Gérard Jourd'hui and Gaëlle Girre, it ran on France 2 in three seasons in 2007, 2008 and 2011. It consists of a total of 24 episodes of which half are 60 minutes long and half are 30 minutes.

Wonderful piece of film noire. Great acting, París, well, as beautiful as ever. Love the plot gaps, force you to thunk. To imagine. The whole story is never revealed. Highly recommended. Marie is delicious.

Outvoted by his board of directors and hounded by the press, the Parisian CEO of a large company finds refuge for the weekend in a country inn run by his ex-wife.

Monsieur Joseph is a respected citizen of a small town in the North of France. For over four decades he has run a specialized bookshop in the shopping square of the town. Every morning before opening his shop, he has a nice cup of black coffee at the local cafe where he has a nice small talk with Julien, the barkeeper, and with the regulars. Everybody likes him. At least everybody did... Everything actually started to change the night his young wife Tina disappeared without trace. Now, Monsieur Joseph has become Youssef again, he is again the "foreigner" (wasn't he born of Kabyle parents?), the shady foreigner, the frightening foreigner... He can't but have murdered his wife, all the more as another woman was killed four years before without the culprit having been arrested. There is no smoke without fire, is there?...

A meek, mild-mannered man begins to suspect that his beautiful wife is poisoning him after he realizes that his acute stomach aches occur only after he eats at home. As a result, he investigates the death of his predecessor-- his wife's first husband.

"It's You, That's All" tells the story of a young woman who has locked herself away in the worst kind of solitude, that of the heart, and to whom fate, cruel and capricious, offers one last chance to escape. It is indeed her last chance, as Pauline is about to leave behind this period of her life when anything is still possible. After that, in many ways, it will be too late. Either Pauline suffers and becomes a victim, or her explosive personality pushes her to take action so that the man of her life is finally hers. She therefore decides to devise a plan that, she believes, will allow her to take revenge on Mathieu, the man who abandoned her a few years earlier. But the scheme will get out of hand, and the revenge she had imagined will turn into a whirlwind of misunderstandings and unexpected situations until the final twist, proving once again that the hunter becomes the hunted.
