This crime series follows Jim, a Chicago cop who gets kicked off the force after being shot and wrongfully accused by his ex-captain of having an affair with his wife. After receiving his payout, Jim decides to moves to a small Florida town to join the state police.

Soon after he's assigned to defend an officer who shot a young Hispanic boy crossing the U.S.-Mexican border, attorney Eduardo Martinez learns that his own family is planning to enter the country illegally. But when his client offers to help the family using his corrupt connections in exchange for a guaranteed acquittal, the proposition traps Martinez in a paralyzing conflict of interest. Will he choose to obey the law or listen to his heart?
