This simple romantic tragedy begins in 1957. Guy Foucher, a 20-year-old French auto mechanic, has fallen in love with 17-year-old Geneviève Emery, an employee in her widowed mother's chic but financially embattled umbrella shop. On the evening before Guy is to leave for a two-year tour of combat in Algeria, he and Geneviève make love. She becomes pregnant and must choose between waiting for Guy's return or accepting an offer of marriage from a wealthy diamond merchant.

In the seaside town of Rochefort, twin sisters Delphine and Solange dream of love and artistic fulfillment beyond their quiet lives. As sailors, artists, musicians, and chance visitors pass through town during a weekend fair, a web of near-misses and romantic longing brings ideal partners tantalizingly close—without their realizing it.

Set against the backdrop of an increasingly violent strike, a worker falls in love with the middle-class daughter of his landlady.

Three little criminals get a tip for a great coup with lots of money in it. Unfortunately they lack the starting funds to buy the required welding torch. So they persuade their successful colleague Alphonse to join their team. But the well thought-out coup fails, and Alphonse is the only one of them who ends up in jail for several years. When he's released, he's out for revenge.

Whilst being transferred to a psychiatric hospital, a ruthless serial killer Gassot makes a break and goes on the run. He arrives in Marseilles, intending to escape abroad. Here, he falls for a young prostitute, Gerda.

Clovis Blaireau is a private detective. It is charged by Nadège de Courtaboeuf wife knew wealthy industrialist Prosper de Courtaboeuf, to obtain evidence of the infidelity of her husband. Clovis managed to penetrate the intimacy of Prosper, and became his friend. Following diverse Clovis and Prosper adventures will find themselves in Tunisis pursued by a band of Mafioso and by members of the Front of breaking load of Couscous.

"Un enfant dans la ville" was originally a Michel Fugain album, a record that already told a story. Now it's a musical comedy filmed for television, giving life to its characters and taking up the story of the record, that of today's generation, not quite at ease in their sneakers and trying to untie the laces of truth.

Seemingly unrelated events connect several people: a young wounded soldier, a nurse, a failed comedian, and a murderer. The film starts literally with a bang and ends with a strangulation. In between there are numerous events both strange and unpredictable involving drugs and homosexuality, a deaf-mute and a potential suicide. The odd characters assembled in this movie are each in their own way in search of sexual gratification.

Aldo and Marco are twins. Marco, a priest by trade, has always been an object of pride for his mother, while Aldo has already spent six periods in prison. Always on the lookout for money and pretty girls, he lets himself be hijacked by crazy, often dishonest operations, which fail most of the time. One day, he is forced to flee to Tunisia, dressed as a priest and posing as Marco. There he meets up with Prosper, a childhood friend, whom he lures into his race for millions and beautiful summer girls. Marco, delegated by the Paris police, arrives in Tunisia to limit the damage, but only makes it worse. Once again, Aldo has to disappear into the wilderness for a while and make himself forgotten...

From their native Algeria, four friends discover Paris, hoping to find fortune and love. One of them meets the charming Sandra, who is looking for meaning in her life.

For having wanted to defend a young girl accused of theft, a comedian finds himself in prison. Embarked in spite of himself in an escape attempt, he is condemned by a particularly incompetent court which follows without thinking the pleadings of an overzealous public prosecutor! Once incarcerated, the poor comedian has to deal with the harassment of one of the guards, a kind of dangerous sociopath frustrated with life.

In Bab El Oued, during the French colonization, the action takes place against the backdrop of elections. The unemployed Roro, son of skewer merchant Dodièze likes Chipette, daughter of hairdresser Gongormatz.

The arrival of Madeleine, daughter of Maurice, will upset the upcoming off-season of Marcelin, Raoul and Yoyo, three southern half-thug, half-lazy, under-proletarian boys, who live off unemployment. In contact with this young woman the three friends will question their sad life and decide to leave. But one does not escape so easily from Baie des Anges...
