In 1979 and 1980, workers in São Paulo’s metallurgical industry organized a series of strikes that changed the face of union politics in Brazil. In the process, they established the groundwork for Brazil’s Worker’s Party and brought to the national spotlight union leader Luís Inácio Lula da Silva. Metalworkers is a feature-length documentary about the stories of 21 of these workers who took part in these historic strikes but remain in relative anonymity today.

After an initial meeting in 1964 interrupted by military dictatorship and a new meeting in the early 1980s to end the film "Twenty Years Later", Eduardo Coutinho once again find Elizabeth Teixeira, survivor of peasant struggles.

They belong to the group "Tortura Nunca Mais", which, interacting between a traumatic memory and oblivion, brings up the memory of recent events. They also reveal the selectivity of official history and build a political memory. They think of the past so that they can free the future from the ghosts they still chase in the present.

A documentary about Joao Guimaraes Rosa's stay in Nazi Germany. The film captures the experience of the Brazilian vice-consul in Hamburg between 1938 and 1942, at the height of the Nazi regime and during the first years of the World War II. Using his writings from that time, as well as archive pictures, documents, survivors testimonies, and an unpublished interview with him, the film reveals new biographical aspects of one of the greatest writers in Brazilian history.

Through interviews and footage, this work revisits the historic collaboration between Pixinguinha and Vinícius de Moraes in creating the soundtrack for the film Sun Over the Mud, directed by Alex Viany (1963). A significant milestone of the Cinema Novo movement, Sun Over the Mud had limited screenings for the general public but definitively contributed to the emergence of one of the most remarkable—and previously unprecedented—partnerships between these two legendary figures of Brazilian music.
