Ming, a single parent, is forced to bring up his kid Xing because his wife left - no thanks to his gambling habit. That vice is still not kicked, and father and son spend occasional days on the run from loan sharks. Serendipity strikes when the runaway dog Dou Dou gets rescued by Xing, and despite his dad's disdain for canines, brings him home. Through a series of oh-so-cute-inducing scenes, Xing finally gets to keep his current best friend.

Louise, an aimless, 28 year-old Brooklynite, recently single, sort of a musician, depressed without admitting to it, drunkenly falls while doing something stupid and breaks her hip. This lands her in a physical therapy ward full of people twice her age. There, she meets Antonina - a cranky elderly Polish woman, who speaks no English. Louise gets a job caring for her. Neither woman loves the arrangement but it’s time to face the truth about aging. We all have to grow up sometime.

Jo Yang, a celebrity radio guest, receives a phone call while on air and sets in motion a series of events that threaten her life and her family. Forced to choose between saving a prostitute or a loan-shark, her choice is confronted by public outcry. This film is loosely inspired by real-life events in Singapore, and explores how it is more choice rather than chance that shapes our lives.

Mr. Kiasu has been fired, but true to his never-say-die, die-die-never-lose, lose-lose-muststill-win attitude, he aims to bounce back, improve himself and possibly even fall in love. He is caught in the idiosyncrasies of a modern world of tech-startups, fusion-health-sportactivities and the growing focus of mental-wellness, as we see a fresh adaptation of the beloved character of Mr Kiasu, the well-meaning, made-with-love personification of every Singaporean’s “Kiasu” nature. However, Kiasu’s attempts to become a better person are put to the test by young upstart Blake, symbolistic of how even the “Kiasu-est” of us are challenged by a competitive, constantly progressing future.
