Angi Vera is a young nursing assistant in a hospital. When she speaks out against the appalling conditions, she is reprimanded, but the Communist Party takes her under its wing. She is sent for ideological training, where she learns to be an agitator in exchange for accommodation and meals. Meanwhile, she falls in love with one of her teachers, but she cannot live out her love within the walls of the strict school.

Imre, secretary of the illegal communist party arrives in Budapest secretly in 1942, in order to start the newspaper of the party in the fight against war. Not even his own mother can see him.

The dramatically dense film takes place in workers' surrounding in the sixties. It raises the newspaper article serving as the basis for the short story to be a model: in a plastic factory fire breaks out causing enormous damages.

Mrs, Venczel cheats on her husband, 25 years older than herself, with her stepson. Venczel, driver of the Margitsziget bus cannot control his anger and leaving his route, after a crazy pursuit, before his passengers' very eyes, beats up the cyclist zigzagging in front of him. He is put to passive service. Roaming the streets of Budapest he meets the cyclist. They become friends.

In the first half of the fifties Júlia, the weaver meets engineer Szél on a visit with "educative" purpose, who raises his three children alone in a mighty villa. Júlia is willing to take care of the adolescent children and she moves in to the villa. She falls in love with the man but he is not able to express true, deep feelings.
