Batasari is a 1961 Indian Telugu-language drama film. It is based on the Bengali novel Bardidi by Saratchandra Chatterjee.

Prafulla is beautiful and righteous but is mistreated by her in laws because of her poverty. Prafulla comes to a fortune by chance and is guided by Bhabani Pathak, a nationalistic religious leader to use this fortune in the cause of justice. She is trained rigorously and becomes a bandit queen wrapped in mystery and even fights back Colonial British forces to safeguard villagers.She becomes the legendary Debi Chowdhurani. Gradually incidents take such a turn that her erstwhile tormentors, i.e. her in laws come under her power and the movie ends with reconciliation.

Ajay is a musician by hobby and also runs a business. His younger brother Arun wants to become a doctor. After his mother’s death, Ajay becomes the head of the family however, he falls into debt. He decides to take singing lessons to earn money. Bandana is a good singer and she starts taking classes from Ajay. Ajay starts liking Bandana because she is a charming lady and sings well. However, it is soon cleared and Ajay transfers his wealth to his brother. Arun and Bandana got married.

This movie revolves around a village hospital that was built by a generous hearted man, Choudhury Ramprasad (Ashok Kumar) who is also a patient in the hospital. In the background of the hospital atmosphere is an election in the village, which is proceeding smoothly, but causing a disturbance is Ramprasad's son (Ramesh Deo). Other supporting caste include Jagirdar, Chand Usmani, and Jankidas.

Pradyut Sen is an allopathic doctor who moves to Nabagram to run his practice. However, as the village already has an ayurvedic doctor, Jibon Sen, Pradyut develops a dislike for him.

Raja was a professional thief who went to jail for a crime. His very close assistant Bhola waited for him and when Raja returned from prison, they started planning a bigger one. At last, Mala came to know everything about Raja and accepted him as her partner. Raja also decided to change his life and put his best effort into becoming a good man. He meets Mala and asks her to forgive Raja. Raja once again regains Mala's love and the film ends on a happy note.
