Ammu, a little girl, runs away from her bungalow as her stepmother physically tortures her. However, the girl finds love and solace in the arms of Kamala, a milk vendor.

Sivaraman, an honest government clerk, and his wife Lakshmi, belong to a middle-class family and they have two children. Raghavan). During the deepavali festival, they all witnessed a murder committed by the rowdy Gurusami. Gurusami sent his henchmen to kill Selvaraj's family. During the confrontation, Lakshmi and Venugopal were murdered, while Selvaraj was seriously injured and his baby spared. Gurusami was later sentenced to the death penalty but he managed to be released thanks to his henchmen. Selvaraj is now determined to punish them.

Kandasamy is desperate to enrol his son in a good school. Trouble ensues when his wife spots him with an educated woman who is posing as their child's mother in order to help him get admission.
