Filmmaker Peter Hegedus embarks on the challenging journey to make Sorella's Story, an immersive 360° film set on the beaches of Latvia in December 1941, when thousands of Jewish Women and children perished at the hands of Nazi collaborators. Along the way Peter teams up with Jewish-Australian 90-year-old Ethel Davies whose family was also killed in the same massacre.

A young man in his early twenties living abroad wants to explore his grandfather's past with naive enthusiasm, focusing on his political role in the 1950s. Even from the perspective of so many years later, Péter is still moved by the ideology and purity of the revolution, so he confronts his own grandfather, the former prime minister, with a series of relentless questions about his compromises, servility, and indifferent excuses. A particularly shocking part of the film is when Péter, acting as an intermediary, seeks answers from his grandfather through a tape recording of a victim of the 1956 revolution who fled to Australia.

December 1941. A group of women and a 10-year-old girl named Sorella are photographed as they are ordered to take their clothes off in freezing temperatures on a beach in the Baltic Seas. 80 years later, filmmaker Peter Hegedüs creates a dramatic recreation based on the photograph using new immersive 360 technology. He is aided by Ethel Davis, a 92-year-old Jewish Australian whose family perished in the 1941 massacre, and by the powerful testimonial of his own Jewish grandmother who managed to survive the Holocaust. To Never Forget goes beyond the depiction of a filmmaker’s process, revealing how the Holocaust continues to affect lives, families, and geopolitics today.

In the year 2000, the Hungarian river Tisza was flooded with tons of cyanide from an Australian-Romanian gold mine. Fishermen like Balazs Meszaros struggled to survive. In an effort to save his people and their way of life, Balazs travels to Australia to confront the mining company responsible for destroying his livelihood.
