Joel Kapala, a 17-year-old from Lubango, suffers a great disappointment and vows revenge. In 1998, he is admitted to one of Angola's most prestigious schools, the Santa Agnes International School in Luanda, to complete his pre-university studies. His admission causes conflict within the Kapala family: on one side, Laura Kapala, Joel's mother, supports him; on the other, his father, Ivo Kapala, owner of a mechanic shop, opposes him. "Jikulumessu" tells the story of revenge, of intertwined feelings such as love and hate, hope and despair, loyalty and betrayal. It is a story of strong emotions and real characters, of Angolan landscapes, sounds, and colors, in an original idea by Coréon Dú.

Kuduro (literally meaning 'hard arse') is an urban cultural movement that was born in Angola during the last decade of the Civil War. Created in discos and raves in downtown Luanda through a mixture between House and Techno beats and traditional Angolan rhythms, Kuduro spilled over from the center to the suburbs. It rapidly spread throughout Angola, through Africa and now all over the world. 'I LOVE KUDURO' follows the most idolized stars of this urban phenomena that today influences scores of young Africans.

Being the home to ancient civilizations, it is considered the "birthplace of humanity" or "the Motherland". But could it also be the birthplace of style?
