Gentle, easy-going Or Kia moves from the countryside to Kuala Lumpur to work for his cousin and best friend Ah Soon, a mid-level gangster and enforcer. While Or Kia works hard to put a sister through school, Ah Soon cares for an unstable girlfriend prone to mysterious disappearances. As they both sink deeper into a nocturnal world of debts, drugs, and betrayal, Or Kia's loyalties are strained when Ah Soon falls out of favor with the bosses and tries to escape the business.

Zahara, a stateless refugee, lives on a small remote island in Malaysia, where she makes a living selling turtle eggs. One day, Samad, claiming to be a university researcher, visits the island, wanting to employ Zahara to show him around. As the day goes on, Zahara and Samad become entangled in a dangerous dance of duplicity and deception.

Discovering a severed bird that is missing its body, Ah Ger decides to make a mock body for the poor creature and give it a proper burial. Her intentions prompt an unexpected visit by the ghost of her late grandmother appearing in the form of the dead bird, urging Ah Ger to help find and care for her egg. Her actions caused her to be terribly misunderstood and punished by her mother.

Li Ahh and Li Ohm grow up motherless. Their father Sui is a workaholic who spends most of his time mending broken mannequins. Sui is an outsider to the two boys, the only legacy left by the woman he loved, or still loves.

In this black comedy about the disintegration of a love affair, a young woman's loneliness in the midst of Kuala Lumpur's metropolitan sprawl triggers a tenuous relationship with a naïve salesman who has a tendency to please and over-emote.

Exercise in its own form of absurdism. Jokes are good if you tell them well. Strange jokes have to be told even better. The maker likes really strange jokes and that's why he practices telling them well. Man takes his injured friend to the hospital. There it becomes apparent that a leg is missing.

Rare earth meets rare talent as director Liew Seng Tat unleashes his fertile imagination on the Lynas controversy and fantasizes about our post-apocalyptic Malaysian village. After the radioactive dust has settled, we find that the village's leaders and entrepreneurs have all gone to a better place (and we don't mean heaven). Left behind are the innocent victims who couldn't afford to flee their ancestral homes, their lives turned upside down -- for some, quite literally. Liew Seng Tat's vision is unique and funny and guaranteed to crack you up. Yet, in the aftermath of the laughs, there lingers a poignant aftertaste. Is it thorium? Maybe, maybe not. But don't worry, they tell us it's not dangerous.
