In the story, an old man called Usman, dies of cancer which was caused by the toxic waste in the village water supply. Usman's son Nirmal, identifies the cause of the pollution as the large chemical factory which his father had been campaigning against most of his life. Disturbed by his father's death, Nirmal takes refuge in the fables and images his father had left him with, during their wanderings in the village. His fantasy world merges with reality when he meets a mermaid in the carnival which is visiting the village.

A retired judge is brutally shot and with his murderer still at large, his visually impaired neighbor becomes a prime suspect.

Radha Madhavan (Anoop Menon) is stuck in a Russian airport with his deceased mother's body. Despite airport officials sending away passengers to hotels, he is unable to part with the body. Soon, a Malayali-Russian lecturer learns about him and tries to console him.
