When a passionate classical dancer, Balakrishna, falls in love with Madhavi, a woman who admires his talent, fate separates them. Years later, as he drowns in sorrow and self-destruction, an unexpected encounter rekindles his lost hopes, emotions and talent.

A young man and a woman fall in love with each other. However, their parents decide to test their relationship by separating the couple for a year.

Prema Pusthakam (English: Book of Love) is a 1993 Telugu film which was partly directed by Gollapudi Srinivas before his death on the set of the film; it was later finished by his father, Gollapudi Maruthi Rao. It featured debutant Ajith Kumar and Kanchan in the lead roles, with Devendran as music composer.

The movie revolves around Pandit Hari Prasad, a blind flautist (played by Sarvadaman Banerjee), and a painter (Suhasini) who is mute. Hari Prasad lives with his only sister in a village which has some tourist attraction. He earns money by playing flute and entertaining the tourists. His life changes dramatically once Jyothirmayi (Moon Moon Sen) comes there and hears his musical talent. She helps him reach high standards in classical music. Years pass by and Hari Prasad becomes one of the greatest flutists in India; he develops ;a great love towards Jyothirmayi for whom he dedicates all his albums

An uneducated cobbler, Sambayya, raises his late sister's son and harbours feelings for Sarada. Unable to marry Sarada, Sambayya settles down with Ganga, but another problem knocks at his door.
