A little princess, Ranjani is tattooed with the royal insignia as part of tradition, and the same night, the child is kidnapped by one of the members of the tattoo gang who brings her up as a gypsy girl renaming her Rani. After Mangala's husband is sent to prison on a false charge, she, being poor, is targeted by Jeeva who approaches her under the pretext of helping her, but wants sexual favours from her.

Sundaram, a banker, is suspected to be murdered soon after which his daughter, Visalakshi, goes missing. Later, amateur detective, Govindan, investigates the case and makes some shocking revelations.
