Soo-Jung (Lee Seung-Yeon) has a bright and honest personality. She is loved by many people. Soo-Jung works as a magazine photographer. When Soo-Jung gets tired of work and life in general, she goes to her friend Young-Ha's (Park Yong-Ha) workroom. Although she always shows others her bright side, she confides to Young-Ha about her sadness and loneliness. Yong-Ha wants to embrace her pain, but there is a wall between them. Hye-yeong reclaims her son from the boy's father and moves back to Seoul where she starts a business with money that she believes came from her brother. It is, in fact, from Shin-ho--her ex-lover. Shin-ho is driven to backruptcy because of his generousity and his wife pleads with Hye-yeong to leave Seoul for the sake of her husband's piece of mind.

Hye-yeong, now a financial success, returns from Germany to visit Shin-ho and his wife. She finds them in anguish over their son, Yeong-gyu, who was crippled in a recent fall. Hye-yeong pleads with the stubborn parents to allow her to take the boy to Germany for surgery.

Jeong-ae is a poor girl who lives with her aunt. Despite her financial status, she is self-confident and proud. She finds herself falling out of love with her childhood sweetheart and in love with a wealthy man. Jeong-ae decides to lie to him about her background in order to make herself more acceptable to him and his family.

Yeong-Ae, who is grown up poorly, marries the elite salary earner in his thirties, Wu-Hyeon, happily. In-Tae, who loved Young-Ae before her marriage, appears to her and persuades her to come back to him. In-Tae is traced by the police on charge of murder. He threatens Wu-Hyeon, and Young-Ae miscarries of her baby from the shock. When Wu-Hyeon finds out the truth, he expels her, spends days drinking.
