Tatort is a long-running German/Austrian/Swiss, crime television series set in various parts of these countries. The show is broadcast on the channels of ARD in Germany, ORF in Austria and SF1 in Switzerland.

Germany in the Thirties. A movie teller realizes that his profession is not longer needed. Silent movies are not produced any longer. Telling stories is the only thing the man was ever good in, so he does not know what to do now. As political circumstances are changing dramatically these days in Germany, he gets new hope that things will again be going better for him...

This is a story of a relationship between three men: Amin, a Palestinian nationalist; Joseph, an Israeli peacenik; and Colonel Shalit, a right-wing Israeli intelligence officer.

Success is a question of confidence, particularly in times of crisis. Life would be unbearable if there weren’t beautiful things to brighten it up a little, including pretty faces. Frank Knöpfel constantly flirts with life with his beguiling bright blue eyes. He buys a complete stranger an expensive coat in a designer boutique just because he feels like it. He disguises himself as a businessman from Oslo, a Mafia boss, a stock exchange specialist and an estate agent, whatever it takes to bring in the cash. He is the type of person who enjoys looking in the mirror, and delights in what he sees there. A flirtation with a customer in a boutique leads to Frank’s undoing.

Romy Haag portrays Clarissa Vornfeist who dreams of fame, while Otto Sander in his role as Wilfried plans to transform her into a plastic doll using a prepared broiler.

Mari is nine, bright, curious and the daughter of a contented, happy family. Mrs. Panacek is seventy, a little confused, but still alert and sometimes even cheeky. She lives in a home to which her son-in-law has sent her in order to have a free hand in running the family fish business. Mari notices Mrs. Panacek because she is wearing two different stockings, including a red one. "Red keeps you warm," says Mrs. Panacek. When Mrs. Panacek runs away from the home, Mari takes her open-minded parents at their word and simply brings the old woman home with her. Didn't her parents always say that you have to be there for others too? Well, they didn't quite mean it that way, but after initial fears and insecurities, Mari's parents realize that they have to show commitment. The film tells the story of an unusual friendship without slipping into social utopia.
