Fitil is a popular Soviet/Russian television satirical/comedy short film series which ran for about 500 episodes. Some of the episodes were aimed at children, and were called Фитилёк, Fitilyok, Little Fuse. Each issue contained from the few short segments: documentary, fictional and animated ones. Directed by various artists, including Leonid Gaidai who presented his famous trio of Nikulin, Vitsin and Morgunov into the cast. It was called in USSR as "the anecdotes from the Soviet government".

The fire department is preparing for the New Year. Three activists of amateur performances decide to kidnap professional artists for a New Year's concert. A police captain investigates the kidnapping and listens to complaints from the “unkidnapped” artists.

In the first hour of the new year 1965, a holiday program with the participation of Pavel Rudakov and Sergei Lavrov, Larisa Mondrus, Tatiana Shmyga, Leonid Engibarov, Arkady Raikin, brothers Sazonov, Iosif Kobzon, Maya Kristalinskaya, Muslim Magomaev, vocal octet "Line" and pop orchestra conducted by Eddie Rosner, Yulia Pashkovskaya, Vladimir Shubarin, Eduard Khil, quartet "Accord" was broadcast. Among the guests are cosmonauts Gagarin, Belyaev and Leonov.

A comedy about the trip of Tarapunki and Shtepselya (popular artists of the Soviet stage of the 60s) to a concert in Moscow. The heroes were not lucky: the thirteenth car, in which they were supposed to arrive in the capital, was forgotten to be attached to the train. The merry men go to Moscow on the railroad ties, dragging a wagon ...

Everyone has had to deal with boorishness, skulduggery, vulgarity and other vestiges of the past. And in order to better fight against vestiges today, it is necessary to study how they originated in the past. Tarapunka and Stetsel go to the Stone Age, to the Middle Ages to a knight's tournament, watching the first movie. And then they go to the future, where these vestiges no longer exist, but other problems have arisen.

A musical film review. On the festive evening of May Day 1959, viewers will join the film's creators on a tour of Moscow, its streets and squares, meeting their favorite artists. And they will see how joyfully Muscovites celebrate the holiday of Spring!

During the war, Tarapunka meets Galya, but their paths diverge. The war ends, Tarapunka finds a job as a traffic cop in Kyiv, and his friend Shtepsel becomes a theater technician. Galya comes there to perform. The paths of the heroes cross again, and the concert introduces new comedians to the world.

Post-war reconstruction. New residents turn on their first television in their new apartment—a bulky bandura with a tiny screen. On the screen are Tarapunka and Shtepsel, who promise a real revue — more precisely, a tour of Kyiv. But how can you do a tour if you can't see anything from here, Tarapunka reasonably asks. They decide to climb the radio transmission tower.
