Noam is a 24-year-old columnist struggling to establish himself as a writer, and not lose his mind in the process. A challenging task since his father is famous not only for his great talent as a writer, but also for his outrageous borderline personality. When Noam hits rock bottom fueled by a deadly combination of drugs, he finds his own route to normality in the unlikeliest of places: the psych ward.

A group of Ethiopian Israeli youth decide to kidnap the police officer who peppered their adolescence with abuse and eventually murdered their closest friend. What starts off as a personal revenge scheme quickly boils over into a massive national protest movement against police violence and for equality. Led by the pain and rage of SELAM, the beautiful sister of police's victim, and the small-time crook INDAL, the group capture the officer in an abandoned public pool and turn the whole area into an autonomous zone for the struggle.

Rules must be followed. For the "supervisors" of the Bat Yam neighbourhood in Israel, this means ensuring that women are dressed appropriately, that people respect Shabbat, or that Arabs from Jaffa don't enter the neighbourhood with music blaring from their cars. Avi, Kobi and Yaniv are young and know how to fight. They want to force their neighbours to become religious, without hesitating to be violent in the name of God. The inhabitants admire the gang and are afraid of them at the same time. One day a new girl, Miri, arrives. She is not familiar with the strict rules of modesty. The gang's leader Avi is going to be torn between his feelings for Miri and his dedication to the gang.

In the city of Jaffa; a young girl plans to run away with her secret lover, when a tragedy forever changes the course of their lives. Jaffa is a mixed Arabic - Jewish seaside city near Tel Aviv, where Reuven Wolf (Moni Moshonov) has a garage for repairing cars. His wife Ossi (Ronit Elkabetz), a vain, self-centered woman, just makes everybody's life difficult. The couple's daughter, Mali Wolf (Dana Ivgy), has secretly fallen in love with her childhood friend, the young Toufik (newcomer Mahmud Shalaby), a hard-working youth who has come as a helping hand to his Israeli-Arab father Hassan, a long-time mechanic working for Reuven.

Amos lives alone with his schizophrenic teenage son, whom he refuses to intern in the psychiatry ward - he knows only too well how they treat their patients there. One day, Amos brings home a Thai young woman, an illegal alien called Bena. Amos hopes to find some "normality" through this female presence, but things do not work out as he expected.

The film depicts the day where Yosi (73), the father of the Korman family, redeems the family dog Shula from agonized dying of numerous diseases by putting her to sleep. Yosi decides to take Shula's inanimate body with him and bury it in the sands, nearby home. The participants in the film (the director himself, and the members of his family) play themselves in a cinematic story based on true event.

Autumn 1996. Avner, a highly-regarded Professor of Arts and his young wife, Ilana, come to visit the family farm run by Rachel and Shouki, (his children from a first marriage) and Menahem (the brother of his deceased first wife). Avner is in pain and needs a doctor. Rachel calls up Joel a physician and a friend of the family. Joel and Ilana are having a secret relationship that began during a previous visit to the farm. Menahem is in love with Ilana and Rachel with Joel. They are unaware of the love affair between Ilana and Joel. Avner came this time to the farm with a proposition to sell the farm. This brings all the latent conflicts in the family to break loose. The movie, inspired by Tchekovs "Oncle Vania", is above all an Israeli story. It depicts the weariness, the frustrations and pain of large segments of Israeli society, their love to the land and to one another, their dreams and their hope.

Yonatan and Dani are transferred to a parallel dimension, "Funtartica", where things are not as they seem.
