The British High Command finds itself in the thick of a huge dilemma when it is realized that they have long been infiltrated by spies from a German intelligence group. This all happens during the preliminary stages of the Battle of Britain.

Near the end of the Civil War, an imprisoned Confederate raider is sent under guard to warn both his men and the Army at Fort Yuma that an impending rebel raid is really nothing but a ruse by scoundrels from both sides, in cahoots to take the fort's gold for themselves during the chaos. Soon he slips his treacherous escort and attempts to complete the mission himself.

Pierre Rossi and Béatrice live in the same block of flats in Marseille and love each other. One night, Béatrice leaves her apartment. Later on, Quaglio kills Nasol and deposits the body in a garage, leaving Pierre's papers nearby. As for Pierre, he manages to follow Tom to a villa where several young women have been invited. By chance, writer Eddie Ross comes to the aid of a young woman on the street, a good deed that lands him a job with a strange underground character known only as Martínez.

Inspector Bérurier, having inherited a mansion three years earlier, comes to collect rent from the tenant when the latter is murdered under mysterious circumstances. Béru calls Commissaire San Antonio to the rescue, and the two men discover that Laurenzi's hotel is home to a "brothel" whose director, Madame Albertine, soon reveals to the two policemen that Laurenzi was having an ongoing relationship with Helga, one of the boarders, and Mr. Max, a regular guest of the house.

A top-secret prototype is stolen from an American base. The man who stole it, Andersen, is murdered. The investigation is led by Jeff Gordon, who discovers in Andersen's papers a photo of a woman identified as Corinne Martin. Jeff Gordon escapes an assassination attempt on his way out of Martin's house and meets Corinne again, who denies any involvement in the robbery. Her husband, in the pay of foreign spies, is in possession of the "repeller". After several scuffles, Jeff Gordon arrests Martin and his accomplices. The prototype is returned to its base.

A mediocre pulp novelist is approached by a stranger claiming to be a serial killer with a proposition to chronicle his crimes.
