John DeVries is an internationally acclaimed director, writer, and producer based in South Africa. With a firm belief in the power of film to shape culture and inspire transformation, John has spent a significant part of his career as a documentary filmmaker, with a large period dedicated to shedding light on stories from conflict zones across the globe. From the sun-scorched deserts of Mali to Sweden's frosty streets, John's diverse experiences enable him to craft character-driven narratives that captivate audiences and spark meaningful change. His work spans over 12 countries and includes commercials, music videos, feature films, lifestyle TV, and documentaries. He has worked with the likes of Antonio Banderas, Richard Branson and many more. As a dual US/South African citizen, John brings a unique perspective to the table.
