"The Written Off" is a famous Serbian TV miniseries, that was very popular in former Yugoslavia, originally airing in 1974. Due to its popularity, Radio Television of Serbia has shown reruns of the series ten times, the last re-run starting in 2012. The series has achieved something of a cult status among its audience and still attracts an estimated 3 million viewers with its last rerun. Idea of series derives from exploits of freedom fighters in Belgrade during World War II, and all the characters and events are fictitious.

After graduation, a young woman gets his first job in the women's prison in the province. The story follows her struggle to survive in a small town with her small child, alcohol addiction, and the battle with the prisoners and prison brutality and other schemers who wanted to remove her from working spot.

The story of a young man who, in 1991. receives order to report to a military drill, and finds himself on Vukovar front, where he spends five months. Returning from there, he discovers changes within himself, but within his home town also. Totally lost, he finds no way to make contact with the environment, and suddenly experiences love with the girl who survived all horrors of that war...

Events surrounding the life of a female pop star in which several men are involved as well. The story starts to develop when one of them kills her...

The new misadventures of single mother Svetlana, her 12 year old son and (still) part-time worker Siniša. Siniša's plans to marry Svetlana are ruined when her ex-husband comes back from Germany, persuading her to start their new life together.

In Savamala, the most notorious part of Belgrade, lives an eighteen-year-old young man. In this turbulent atmosphere, different passions collide, and there are hints that the bloody strikes are a prelude to a major battle. The young man tries to escape from the slums and live in a better society. He falls in love and draws comics, while Savamala offers him the misery of everyday life, the world of criminals, gamblers, anarchists, singers and failed poets.

A boxer tries to recover from the memories he brought back from war.

During the final battles of liberation in 1945, the three generations of a bourgeoisie family gather in their villa. Their children, who recognized the momentum of “new age”, are in touch with the communists. The arrival of their escaped sibling brings the tension into family crisis.

A lady manager of newly formed record house places his administrator, disguised as a cleaning lady, in competing record house. She needs to get the records of some world-famous star, and to provide in that way banking credits for building of studio. After many troubles and comic situations, in which the alleged cleaning lady gets because of her good looks, the manager will finally spend a few years in prison.

The story of a war-orphan, who remembers first post-war days, his stay in Home for war-orphans, his teachers, friends, and mostly his "only brother".

In the TV drama-essay, M. Pervić took Andrić's texts as a basis, and interpolated excerpts from other Andrić's works into their imagined meeting. Their meeting is permeated with reflections on art, the artist's relationship to life, and the wisdom that a writer and painter gain by doing their thankless, but only possible job for decades.
