After his business' bankrupcy, Giorgos Alexiou decides to commit suicide. Rosa, his cousin's wife who stand to benefit form his death, hires a private detective to keep an eye on him in case he changes his mind. Minas, Giorgos' employee, becomes Giorgos' guardian angel preventing the suicide at the last minute.
To Be or Not To Be

Con artist Steve Blair persuades Tony Dallas, a Manhattan gangster, to finance a movie about Adam and Eve by offering the female lead to Tony's stripper girl friend, Cha Cha Miller. The film is such a disaster, however, that Steve and his writer, Paul Ferris, decide to escape on a freighter to Greece. En route, Steve learns that the island of Paradeisos has lost its tourist trade because it has no apparent historical or mythological heritage. Intrigued, he hits upon the scheme of turning Paradeisos into a legendary island of love and taking a cut from all commercial enterprises. After planting Greek antiquities in the waters surrounding the island, Steve induces Paul to "recover" them, thus causing the tourist trade to increase.
Island of Love

Giorgis is the only son of the richest tseligas of a mountain village. Although he is considered a sought-after groom, he only has eyes for Droso, who reciprocates his feelings. The obstacle to their love is Giorgis' father. He is a cruel usurer who has confiscated the girl's fields. After a fight between father and son, the former falls dead. However, everyone believes that Droso killed him. Droso runs away from the village and takes refuge in the caves and cliffs, among the lads of the robber Zarvas, who helps to uncover Bournova's murderer. The murder has been committed by Maria, a noblewoman in love with Giorgis, who is subsequently arrested by the gendarmerie. Thus, Droso is now free to marry Giorgis.

The disabled Marina (Anna Fonsou) learns with joy that a childhood friend of hers (Phaedon Georgitsis) has returned to Greece as a brilliant doctor, after many years of studying abroad. She remembers the moments they lived, as well as the way another friend of hers (Kostas Karras) and her aunt (Rita Mousouri) pushed them away. Their meeting will dispel the clouds and even give the disabled girl a hope for a cure.

A lucky lottery ticket will be the reason for him to find his beloved again and live happily for the rest of his life.

Foula is kicked out of her father's house when the doctor who loved her leaves her, and she ends up in a brothel. There, her brother, who is unaware that she is his sister, meets her and falls in love with her. Spiridon Peresiadis (1864 - 1918) was one of the best writers of the dramatic idylls and mountain adventure genre that flourished into the late nineteenth century in Greece. In 1894, Peresiadis wrote Golfo, a story of love, jealousy and betrayal. In a village near Mount Helmos where the waters of the River Styx of Mavroneri flow, the young Golfo and Tassos swear eternal love to one another.
