Polizeiruf 110 is a long-running German language detective television series. The first episode was broadcast 27 June 1971 in the German Democratic Republic, and after the dissolution of Fernsehen der DDR the series was picked up by ARD. It was originally created as a counterpart to the West German series Tatort, and quickly became a public favorite.

Under the auspicious name "Magical Mystery" the Berlin techno label BummBumm Records wants to go on a rave tour. Karl Schmidt aka Charly himself was once an aspiring artist on the scene, until he retired after a nervous breakdown five years ago. Since then he lives in a supervised withdrawal WG in Hamburg. Now, as a driver and custodian for the party-loving DJs and their producers, he becomes part of "Magical Mystery", trying to lead a self-determined life after years of patronizing and well-intentioned advice.

Shot in 11 cities and 5 countries, Speaking in Code provides a glimpse into the world of electronic dance music through the eyes of Modeselektor, the Wighnomy Brothers, Philip Sherburne, Monolake and David Day. Director Amy Grill documents their successes and failures over a three-year period.

"Je oller, je doller", say the roommates of pensioner Otto Panke, because they often see him together with the young Manuela, who likes to invent "dream jobs" for her life and dreams of an "exclusive life". But for Otto, the noticeable sympathy for the pretty, quite professional woman is simply "soul kinship". And since both have an extremely large degree of imagination, they are special, extraordinary - to a certain extent "spider fix"! The problem of the two is that they often get into tricky situations that threaten to get messy and they get a lot of problems. But as is the case with good stories: in the end, everything aims at a happy happy end...
