Konstadinos Markoras is a director who owns a high profile drama school. Marina Kountouratou is a beautiful woman who hosts a silly television show. Petros (Georgos Kambanellis), son of the factory owner Tsamis (Lavrentis Dianellos), is in love with his father's worker Martha (Martha Vourtsi). However, before they can get married, Tsamis' intrigues and scheming lead the relationship to a shipwreck and Petros marries the rich woman approved by his family. Ultimately, however, Tsamis regrets his attitude. Thus, the young couple unite their destinies and live happily ever after.

At the Presidential Mansion news arrives every day indicating that things in the country are going from bad to worse. The President summons all the political leaders in order to understand exactly what is happening; and yet no one can enlighten him. He decides to act. He calls two journalists and assigns them the task of investigating the matter by speaking directly with ordinary people. The investigation starts with the notorious Gypsy Tamtakos, who struggles every day for a living. Then they move on to a simple employee, Markos, who dreams of a raise -which never comes. Then it's a farmer, Thymios, who comes to the capital to sell his oranges. In a largely burlesque manner, the film more or less reveals that the entire misfortune is due to Greeks' laziness and apathy, as well as to the prevailing attitude of "no big deal".

Antonis is a tough and heartless guy who, after several years in prison, is released and returns home, causing great turmoil in the previously peaceful life of the village. Everyone fears him and avoids any kind of conflict with him for any reason. Tassos, however, who has recently returned from abroad and has a heightened sense of justice, does not hesitate to confront him in order to win Vasso's heart and save her child (from her first marriage), who has been kidnapped by Antonis in order to blackmail her.
