At the end of the 19th century in an isolated mansion: a young maid has to help undress her new mistress, who is suffering from hysteria. Even though the attacks scare the girl, she is being drawn to the hysterical woman. The master, who tries to treat the mistress with hypnosis, wants to break the womens’ bond.

Two sisters' lives are in limbo. In their youth, Nene and Ava were a singing duo. Now there is a child, a job at a café, a boyfriend, and their mother, who is still critical of them. One sister secretly arranges a gig for both of them, and the other smashes her life to pieces because of a feeling. Suddenly it seems possible and necessary to leave one's comfort zone.

Since Fanny senses that a boundary was crossed during sex with Oskar, she wants to process what happened and travels to see him at the Baltic Sea. The idyll with the charismatic man slowly begins to crumble when several humiliations throw him off balance and Fanny refuses to make up for them.
