Under the blinding sun Clara struggles to see her family and the reality that surrounds her.

Muanza, a woman born in the Kingdom of Kongo in the early nineteenth century and trafficked to Brazil, awakens to find herself in the present, roaming the streets of Rio’s rapidly changing port region, known as ‘Pequena Africa’, or Little Africa.

Through virtual conversations, the film reveals a diverse panel of experiences of Brazilians living abroad. They are students who have moved in search of academic knowledge and professional training, and now have to deal with issues such as being a foreigner, the distance from Brazil and the impact of their choices.
