He was the master forger of the 20th century: the Hungarian painter Elmyr de Hory. We will probably never know how many works by Picasso, Matisse and Modigliani still hang in museums and private collections. In addition to the life story of de Hory, the documentary also follows the paths of the two art swindlers Fernand Legros and Réal Lessard. In the style of an exciting investigation, the documentary traces the lives of three enigmatic figures: Those of the Hungarian painter and art forger Elmyr de Hory, the Frenchman Fernand Legros, also a famous art fraudster, and the Canadian Réal Lessard, also an art forger and lover of Legros. Legros was a character straight out of a novel: a millionaire at the age of 25 and a homosexual dandy who loved luxury limousines, fur coats, cigars, lavish parties and a relaxed lifestyle. He had an affair with Legros, but Elmyr de Hory may also have fallen in love with him.

Mr. Supernature AKA Marc Cerrone or simply Cerrone has been a pillar of glittery four-to-the-floor disco anthems for nearly 40 years now. If you’re not familiar with the drummer, producer, composer, francofunkateer amongst countless other titles and roles, he’s kind of a god, on par with Giorgio Moroder, Nile Rodgers and the like. Pitchfork has gathered raw concert footage and interview with Rodgers, Bob Sinclar, Dave Haslam and the man himself (who chalks-up his fascination with electric music numbers to seeing Jimi Hendrix perform live in Paris as a teenager) to delve into the mans incalculable contribution to the DNAs of dance floor freakers and pop music alike (sampling years before it was adopted as hip-hop’s hammer and nail) and how he came to be so cherished by the greater funk cannon.

Techno celebrated its 25th birthday in 2013. It has become a culture in its own right, ranking among trendy music, and bringing together millions of people worldwide. Its DJs have become veritable stars. It is a global, worldwide culture, and its creators and fans alike share its common denominators of hedonism, a thirst for freedom, and a sense of suspended time via its musical trances. Thanks to Internet, but also thanks to emblematic festivals, the Techno movement is today undergoing exponential growth. What are the codes and the creative processes of this worldwide culture? Who are the leading players of this global movement? How does this music influence contemporary creation, and increasingly, the economy?

This documentary offers an immersion in the culture of the tee-shirt, this simple piece of clothing has become a work of art for some and counter culture symbol for others. American Apparel founder Dov Charney, Earsnot, Tony Alva, Jim Philips, Mark the Cobrasnake and VERBAL all make appearances amongst an eclectic group of creatives.
