A temperamental Broadway producer trains an untutored actress, but when she becomes a star, she proves a match for him.
Larry Day, foreman of the 3X Ranch, and his men are pursuing a gang of rustlers when Jake Landis, who is being forced into rustling by Thorne, the bandit chief, is saved by his daughter Jeanne, who gives him her horse and then confronts Larry. They soon fall in love. Meanwhile, a wandering horse leads the men to Landis, who is then arrested and locked up at the ranch. Jeanne attends a dance at the ranch, and Jeff Thorne threatens to accuse her father of the commission of all their crimes unless she agrees to marry him. Larry overhears, and the rustlers meet head on with the ranch men and are captured. Larry and Jeanne are united.
An honest ranch foreman gets kidnapped as part of a complicated plot to swingle the ranch owner
When young drifter Sandy Loom finds prospector Jim Perkins dying, he promises to take care of his daughter Myra. Assited by Professor Hawley and "Stills" Manners, he works her father's gold claim. Simeon Coe, a land shark and claim jumper, asks the judge to appoint him the girl's guardian, swearing it was Jim's last request, and though the judge refuses, Coe orders Sandy and his pals off the claim, backed by the sheriff.
Bud Watkins loses his ranch and savings to gambling house proprietor "Gentlemen Jim" Slade. The Cocopah Kid, a notorious bandit, lures away Betsy Burke, Bud's sweetheart and the daughter of the local sheriff.
Sheriff Jack Norton is badly wounded in a gun battle with bandits and is helped by Anita Parsons, the daughter, as he later learns, of the bandit leader. Torn between his love for the girl and his devotion to duty, Jack decides the latter is too strong to resist.
Ben Johnson, a sheepherder who hates sheep, is instructed by his employer, Vasquez, to escort beautiful Rena Newhall to her father's ranch. On the journey, Rena is abducted by Zach Marlin, who takes her to Buck Brent, an outlaw who has sworn vengeance on Jim Newhall, Rena's father, for sending him to jail years before. Ben later poses as an outlaw, joins Brent's band, and takes a hand in rustling the elder Newhall's cattle. On that raid, Ben contrives to get himself captured and convinces Rena's father both of his own good intentions and of the treachery of Marlin. Ben rejoins Brent's gang, but he is soon exposed as a fraud by Marlin.
Cowboy Andy Hubbard becomes known as a “yellow back” because of his fear of horses and is fired by rancher Bruce Condon. Andy soon finds work with neighbor John Pendleton, and love with Anne, the boss’s daughter. When Anne urges Andy to ride, he hides his phobia, leading Pendleton to assume that he is a good rider.
War hero Jim Jordon is unable to get back his old ranch job. He takes work at a ranch owned by Anne Morse and finds that Kincaid, owner of a nearby marble quarry, is preparing to seize some of Miss Kincaid's land.
During a protracted drought, Larry Day and his riders from the Bar None find and rescue Professor Parkinson, an alleged rainmaker.

Returning home from the Great War, "Breezy" Hart (Fred Humes) and his shell-shocked buddy Frank Wilcox (Ralph McCullough) discover the Wilcox property in the hands of evil Sam Hardy (William Norton Bailey). Frank, who is the rightful heir to the ranch, goes into hiding, while "Breezy" takes a job in the ranch kitchen. Learning of Frank's whereabouts, Hardy plots to have the young heir killed. Luckily, Breezy overhears the villain plotting with his henchmen and is able to rescue his friend. Hardy and his men are arrested, and Frank, now cured of his illness, is reunited with his girl, June Marston (Nita Cavalier). Breezy, meanwhile, is busy romancing his kitchen staff colleague, Mary Jane (Louise Lorraine).
A young cowboy falls in love with the daughter of a rich rancher, and they plan to marry. However, the cowboy winds up getting in a fight with the girl's cousin and is forced to shoot him. Believing that he has killed the man and will be prosecuted for murder, the cowboy flees and ends up working on a ranch in Oregon, where his cowboy skills impress the owner to the extent that he is picked as the ranch's entrant in the World Rodeo Championships held in nearby Pendleton--a competition in which his fiancé's ranch is also entered.
The Hurricane Kid runs afoul of Colonel Langdon's ranch foreman, Lafe Baxter when Joan Langdon shows an obvious preference for The Kid, and The Kid responds by protecting Joan from Baxter.
Maj. John Furth, a Southern race-horse owner, borrows money to enter his prize racehorse Blue Bird in a race back east, hoping to win enough money to replenish the family fortune. A crooked horse trainer, planted by the man who loaned Furth the money and who wants to marry his daughter Barbara, claims that Blue Bird is a "man killer" and must be shot. Charlie, a neighboring miner who also loves Barbara, doesn't believe it and takes Blue Bird to his mine. Complications ensue.
The efforts of crooked rancher Stephen Laban to force his local bank into an unsecured loan are foiled by Fred Hunter and Jake Robbins, and Laban vows vengeance on the pair; but he is temporarily thwarted by the arrival from the East of society girl Millicent Delacey. Knowing her weakness for social prestige, Hunter arranges to masquerade as the Duke of Black Butte, a visiting nobleman on a hunting expedition; Millicent and her social-climbing mother completely succumb to the duke's charm.
While he goes to his lender to repay his debts, Sam Perry is robbed. He decides to hunt down the bandit, whose description corresponds strangely to that of Dutton, known as "Dude".

A ship carrying a touring circus troupe sinks at sea, and Lorraine, a young girl, is washed up on a deserted island. Her only companion is a gorilla from the circus, Bimi, who raises her as its own. Several years later Lorraine's wealthy grandfather, who has hired a psychic to help find her, is led by the psychic to Lorraine's island, and she and Bimi are taken back to "civiliation" in San Francisco, but things don't work out exactly as planned.
Francis Byrd is in love with circus acrobat, and daughter of the show's owner, La Belle, and tries to join the show to be near her. However, his rival Oscar Thrust is the keeper of a "Man-Eating Gorilla" named Bimbo, who's a featured act.
