The Knock is a British television drama series, created by Anita Bronson and broadcast on ITV from 1994 to 2000, which portrayed the activities of customs officers from Her Majesty's Customs and Excise. The series derived its name from the distinctive 'knock knock knock' command used over the radio to synchronise a raid.

Hotshot gambler Jake Green is long on bravado and seriously short of common sense. Rarely is he allowed in any casino because he's a bona fide winner and, in fact, has taken so much money over the years that he's the sole client of his accountant elder brother, Billy. Lazarus and Dingwall is a British sitcom starring Stephen Frost and Mark Dingwall as two inept detectives in a pastiche of police dramas. The programme ran for six episodes on BBC Two from 1 February 1 to 8 March 1991. Steve Lazarus and Mark Dingwall are a somewhat unconventional duo in the more than slightly unconventional sector of Really Serious Crimes. Their chief is both eccentric and incompetent, and everyone else is equally oddball, from desk worker and the object of Dingwall's affections, Beverly Armitage, to the plainclothes duo. However, despite their somewhat unique approach, what the department seems to come up trumps more often than not.

The Merchant (Harvey Keitel) is a Westerner. A merchant dealing in precious stones from Afganistan and Turkey. He's above suspicion. In truth, the "Stone Merchant" is a Christian convert into Islam. He's rich, cultured, fascinating. Leda (Jane March) is a successful woman who works as Head of the Public Relations for a big company. She's married to Alceo, a professor at the Sapienza University, specialized in the history of terrorist movements. Alceo is on a wheel chair. He lost his legs in the attack to the American Embassy in Nairobi in 1998. Shahid is a terrorist. Now he's planning an attack along the English Channel. Their lives, their destinies cross in Turkey, where Leda and Alceo are on holiday. And the plot will go on to Rome and Turin till the epilogue of the attack on the ferry boat.
