Kal Tumi Aleya’ is the story of rise of Dhirapada Chakroborty from his humble background to the post of general supervisor in Mr. Himanshu Mitra’s company. It’s his journey which shows his various relations with his neighbor whom he calls Sona boudi, Charu di who helps him get this job, Labanya Sarkar, the lady doctor of the company and Amit, Charu’s nephew. The film shows how he faces and handles different circumstances of life and business. It’s the story of Dhirpada’s journey in this delusionary world.

Daktar Babu was a 1958 Bengali film produced by Movie Screen Limited and directed by Bishu Dasgupta. The film's story was written by Bijan Bhattacharjee and the script was written by Pranab Ray. The film starred Uttam Kumar and Sabitri Chattopadhyay and featured music composed by Rajen Sarkar.

The story of Dr. Mukherjee, a highly respected civil surgeon in a small tribal district headquarters. As Dr. Mukherjee treats the poor he becomes even more entwined with their lives and their little problems. To the tribals he is a godlike figure, but to Laxman Lal he is an enemy.

The film explores the tragic fall of feudalism in Bengal during the British Raj. The title of the movie and the story is a reference to the plot simultaneously exploring a platonic relationship between a beautiful, forlorn wife of an aristocrat and a career-driven clerk.

The film documents one of the largest Indian religious fairs, the Kumbh Mela, which is held at the confluence of the rivers Ganges, Yamuna and Saraswati. The action is seen through the eyes of Shubhendu Chatterjee who has come to the Mela not out of any religious sentiment but to see and understand people and seek the reason why “….multitudes upon multitudes of the old and weak and the young and frail enter without hesitation or complaint upon such incredible journeys and endure the resultant miseries without repining.” (Mark Twain after visiting the 1895 Mela)

An aged widow from a village moves to Calcutta to stay with relatives, but faces only exploitation. She moves to a slum, and finds her "own people" in a group of educated, unemployed youth, who are caught up inexorably in the prevalent political violence.

A funny conflict in between two pairs of twin brothers- two identical masters and two identical servants.

Lalu and Chinta are neighbours and extremely good friends. One morning both of die and reach hell. However Yandyut exclaims that there was a mistake and that they were not the individuals he intended to kill. He orders Lalu and Chinta to be sent back to the earth but the latter claim for a tour of hell as compensation. Soon the friends find themselves back on earth but soon realize that their souls have been exchanges in error. This leads to a series of confusion of themselves as well as their near and dear ones. In the end their souls come back to themselves and there is no bound to their happiness, much to the amusement of the rest who did not know why they were so happy.

Sata Bose, the receptionist of hotel Shahjahan and other crew members work hard to make the hotel first choice of the upper class for socializing in the city, just got the taste of freedom from British rule. The movie revolves around different characters - hotel employees to page 3 personalities dealing different human emotions. Although Sata Bose (played by Uttam Kumar) is the central character of the film, he is not the protagonist in many ways, rather the movie can be described as "hyperlink movie" made long ago than the term is coined.

Raj Badhu is a comical family drama that is based on a traditional Bengali joint-family life. It tells the story of family relations, of love and family values and the importance of society in our lives. It shows the complex story of different love relations and how its complications adversely affect the people involved. It shows the nature of man and how all things work out for the best in the end.

Ambernath a well-educated Sanskrit pundit was different from his childhood. The way he thought and described everything was quite different from others. His master Jagannath Tarka Churamoni loved him a lot and after his death, Ambernath took his place. In such a situation Bani the daughter of local zamindar and Ambernath met. After few days, they got married. Bani were very skeptical about her husband and they were not happy with their relation. Later Ambernath left his wife and stayed alone. In the meantime, Bani also understood the affection and love she had for her husband. She came to know about life and commitment. One day Bani heard that Ambernath was very ill and he stayed in a lonely place. Bani rushed there and put her every effort to make him healthy. Later they came to know each other and lived happily.
