In West Africa, Polish intelligence sergeant Milczek discovers the bandit Sheikh Abdullah’s desert stronghold but is captured until the sheikh’s wife, Jamila, secretly rescues him and follows him into safety. When Jamila sees Milczek with a European woman and believes he has betrayed her, she returns to warn her husband, prompting the bandits to lay a deadly ambush against the approaching French expedition.

The main character is a very superstitious man. On the 13th day of the month, after a very bad start to the day, he reads the newspaper and learns that he won the lottery. The unexpected happiness causing him to make a scene at work. Soon it turns out that there was an error in the newspaper and he did not win.....

On the day Andrzej graduates from police academy and receives his officer's stripes, his father, a senior police officer, is murdered. Andrzej, assigned to the investigative brigade, tries to find the murderer, who turns out to be a member of an international gang of counterfeiters. The mysterious ringleader resorts to the help of Janina, an innocent girl who has nothing to do with the criminals. He blackmails her into pretending to be in love with Andrzej and extracting the necessary information from him. But the girl falls in love for real, and he falls in love with her too...
