Den store barnedåpen (English: The great christening) is a 1931 Norwegian comedy film directed by Tancred Ibsen, starring Einar Sissener, Aase Bye and Agnete Schibsted-Hansson. It was the first feature-length Norwegian sound film. The lacklustre Harald (Sissener) is taken in by Alvilde (Bye), and charged with looking after her bastard child. It soon dawns on both of them that Harald has more potential than previously assumed.

During the great Nordic war in 1719, the Swedes have occupied parts of Norway. During the retreat over Tydal mountains most freezes to death. However, some seek refuge in mountain huts. The farmers chase them. The Swede hater Sjur come on tracks of Per Jons, seeking refuge in a mountain hut where Sjur's daughter Eli is located. She takes care of the wounded Per and there is a love affair between them. A relationship which does not fall in well with her ​​father.

Aase lives together with her old grandfather above the city, and she dreams of going away. Kaare is in love with her, but her dreams seem to come between them.
