This story is about the efforts of District Officer Azam Wasli to develop the remote areas of Laka in Sarawak, to unite the various fighting factions and to elimante undesirable element. It is also about his love for a journalist called Mei Ling. Azam wasli becomes the victim of a political conspiracy and Mei Ling is held for ransom. The kidnapping of Mei Ling leads to the reunion of two long lost brothers.
The film tells the story of Puteri (Ogy Ahmad Daud),the only daughter of Captain Shamsul and Engku Zubaidah.Puteri fell in love with the Iskandar and decided to break off her engagement to Dato 'Aminuddin son, Jay as relationships with family Engku Zubaidah is important to their business.
Rosli loves and cares for Adik, his mentally retarded younger brother. He feels responsible for the well being of Adik. Rosli takes Adik everywhere including on his dates with his girlfriend, and this poses a problem to their relationship. She gives Rosli an ultimatum whether to choose her or send his borther to an asylum in Tanjung Rambutan.
Krisya is a beautiful and wise girl but has a weakness of being prone to latah (involuntary mimicry). Her latah condition is inherited from her grandmother's spirit. However, Edry finds Krisya's quirk entertaining and wants to introduce her to his family. Krisya is reluctant, afraid that her latah nature will be disliked by Edry's family.
