The two girls meet again after the holidays as first-year students at medical school, and become close again during the nursing techniques class.

A Czechoslovak battalion, led by Captain Hloušek, conquers a Slovak mountain village two days before Christmas Eve 1944. Christmas and classical music is heard from nearby German positions. The soldiers get permission from their commanders to celebrate Christmas. The only one against is the austere second lieutenant Jílek, about whose past there are various rumours and whom the soldiers distrust. Captain Hloušek decides to reconnoitre the enemy positions, which, despite a minor incident, goes off without a hitch. The holiday of peace and tranquility can begin both with ours and the enemy...

Set in a 1950s Moravian wine village, an elderly Josef, guided by his quirky life philosophy and humor, recalls key moments from his past. Across nine seasonal vignettes filled with local folklore and customs, he and his fellow elders remain fully engaged in the joys and trials of village life.

Violinist Pavel Sedloň falls in love with Elén, and although Elén does not love him, she is determined to marry him. At that time, René dies, exhausted from working on the operetta Srdce v delirium. However, he is saved at the last moment and everything comes to a happy ending when Oldřich Nový explains how the authors actually meant it all.

Cooperative members are harvesting crops, trying to get new water piping installed and preparing to plough away the field boundaries in autumn. Local kulak Voznica (Vladimír Repa) doesn't like any of this so he forces sexton Kodýtek (Vlasta Burian) to help him sabotage their efforts.

Widowed yeoman Tuma and his household are on their way to help the town of Kourim, which is under attack by the papist troops. His son Ondra is secretly following his father. Miksík the castellan, who is responsible for Ondra, finds himself forced to set off after the boy. They are both captured by soldiers from Kutná Hora. Miksík sacrifices himself to give Ondra a chance to flee. On the way, Ondra runs into the orphan Sulík. The two boys become friends and begin to wander together.

A kind-hearted man and lawyer's clerk, Kypr, selflessly takes care of his ward Anna Marie and in the evenings helps the poor and helpless with various legal problems at the U Hrubiána pub. While Anna Marie gains the opportunity to succeed as a singer, the aging man struggles with growing problems that stem not only from his work as a lawyer for the poor, but above all from his tragic past shrouded in mystery, which catches up with him again after years...

It's very human and nice story about lofty princess (her father is amiable but incapable - unforgettable performance of S. Neumann) and good, nice, kind and well-principled young king (prince) who tries to make tender her calm heart to get married with her. After being refused (she's very capricious), he conclude to make her better. He start to work as a gardener at her castle (in secret) and successively bring she to her senses...The story continues when already reformed princess and the young king (she learn about his real identity later) have to take refuge from troops, that princess father (old king) has sent (of course he took a bad and mean counsellors advice). They have to take shelter by several ordinary and poor families, which are always very friendly and give them a help... Of course the tale has happy end.

The conflicts in one pilot's fractured marriage come to a head just as Soviet jets are introduced to international airliners. Naive psychological drama is embraced here with naive admiration for the most advanced aviation technology.

Mr. Ctibor once worked as a hotel valet, and although he is retired, he is still eager to prove that he is needed. He thinks he has once again been given the opportunity to intervene in the interests of both the guest and the hotel's reputation, as he wants to prevent the reported suicide of one of the guests. However, the mix-up of room numbers is fatal not only for old Ctibor, but also for the guest in room 32. Ctibor's efforts prove futile, because he mixed up the room numbers and protected someone who didn't need it at all...

The new era brings with it progress, which must inevitably penetrate even the most remote corners. It has also reached the village of Čirá. The men there have a number of modern machines that make their work in the fields easier, while their wives still toil in the household. One help is readily available - a communal laundry could replace the traditional washcloths. However, the men who rule the municipal council do not want to hear about such spending. So the wives join forces in resistance and resort to severely repressive means...

Now we see a naive reminder that television used to broadcast live productions, but in this case the live broadcast has taken on a surprisingly criminal dimension. One of the actors was killed during the broadcast - and it was seen by all the five million people who watched. Investigators are then reconstructing the suspicious event to find out whether it was an accident or a premeditated crime...
